The Thirties were a time of improvement at Ohio Alpha. The entire second floor was refinished, and hardwood floors were installed. The original neon badge, which hung over the front beach until 2003, was purchased in May of 1939, as the pledges were assessed $0.50 each for the purchase. 1939 was also the year we find the first record of the pushmobile; the interfraternity event of which Ohio Alpha holds great distinction.
Pledge reform was also occurring in the thirties.
