1970-1980

The Brothers of Ohio Alpha “would like to welcome Sam back to the Brotherhood.” The seventies marked the reign of Sam the St. Bernard who stole the hearts of the Brothers at Ohio Alpha. “At Ohio Northern, the Brothers put all their pennies together and purchased a mascot, a Saint Bernard named Sam.”

In July of 1971, Brother Doug Braun built the badge that sits above our fireplace.

Mom has had over 1000 sons pass through 821 S. Gilbert Street by this decade. The EP’s won three of the most prestigious fraternal awards in 1975; the President’s Trophy for scholarship, the All Sports Trophy and the Deans Award! Several house improvements were accomplished, including carpeting several areas, and tiling and paneling the pool room.
